Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended

Photoshop turned twenty years old this year. That may seem like nothin' but a number, but when you look at the Mac platforms it's migrated to and from, and the fact that it's had 12 versions, Photoshop's twenty years have seen a lot of changes for one application. From System 6 on the Motorola 68000, it was then ported to PowerPC, then to OS X, then to OS X Intel, and now to Cocoa and 64-bit. All this while adding the features that make it the meaty image editor it is today. One look at the laundry list of major additions in CS5 makes it clear that Adobe isn't anywhere near done with the product. The new feature list is unrelenting:

Wet media brushes
Content-aware fill and heal tools
Improved masking/chroma keying
Camera RAW 6
Puppet Warp
Mini Bridge
Data-based lens distortion correction with custom lens profiling application
Local adaptation tone-mapping
Faster realtime 3D engine
Repoussé 3D features and HDR image-based lighting
New floating color picker and eyedropper

Of course, all of these features also appear in the Windows version, which has had 32- and 64-bit flavors since version CS4. Let's not forget that Windows 7 just came out as well, so Adobe's had its work cut out for it with this latest installment. I've been working with the betas and the release for a while now, so let's see how it all worked out.

FujiFilm Launches FinePix F300EXR Compact Zoom Camera in India

We almost lost count on how many cameras Fujifilm has brought to Indian market and today, Fujifilm launches the FinePix F300 EXR compact zoom camera to India. This compact zoom is among the few compact zoom cameras in the market which has more than 10x optical zoom. Fujifilm features its Super CCD EXR sensor for capturing outstanding quality pictures. There are new features like motion panaroma mode which captures images while the camera shutter button is pressed down and is being swept much like sweep panorama on Sony compact cameras.

Canon launches PowerShot G12, S95, SX 30 and Three Other Cameras in India

Canon launched six digital cameras in Indian market. The new line-up includes the highly-acclaimed Powershot G12, S95 and SX 30. There are also two new IXUS cameras - the IXUS 300 HS and IXUS 1000 HS. Alongside the premium PowerShot series, Canon also launched the more affordable and compact zoom, the PowerShot SX 130 IS.

Photoshop is the winner by a landslide, garnering over half of all the total votes.

2.GIMP Software

GIMP has a huge set of retouching tools that will allow you to perform advanced image retouching and manipulation. The GIMP outputs your work in many common formats like JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, and even PSD (Photoshop’s native file format).

GIMP is a popular open-source image editor. Often lauded as the "free Photoshop," it has an interface and features similar to Photoshop. Image Manipulation Program. It is free software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and authoring.

3.Fireworks

Fireworks is also a similar software as Photoshop. It excels in several areas over its big brother Photoshop, namely in high-fidelity prototyping of sites and a workspace environment that’s optimized for web designers. It is also a raster and vector hybrid, being able to work with raster-based images and vector-based graphics better and more symbiotically than Photoshop.

4.Inkscape

Inkscape 0.48 now has a preference that allows users to take advantage of multi-threading for the Gaussian Blur filter. This filter makes one of the biggest impacts on Inkscape's performance when in use. Mariana Sing uses blur throughout this image for subtle details, smooth color transitions, and numerous effects. Thankfully the blur operation is now faster than before when using a multi-core or multi-processor computer.

5.Pixelmator

Pixelmator 1.6.4 is first in the world to add a new JPEG compression/decompression engine, called the libjpeg-turbo. JPEG Turbo, as we named it, brings 2x faster JPEG compression via Pixelmator’s Export for Web feature. Remember, Pixelmator has a real-time preview for optimizing images or slices for the Web, so JPEG Turbo makes that preview even more instant.

Create action

An action is a series of commands that you play back on a single file or a batch of files.

For example, you can create an action that applies an Image Size command to change an image to a specific size in pixels, followed by an Unsharp Mask filter that resharpens the detail, and a Save command that saves the file in the desired format.
Most commands and tool operations are recordable in actions. Actions can include stops that let you perform tasks that cannot be recorded (for example, using a painting tool).
Actions can also include modal controls that let you enter values in a dialog box while playing an action.

To use the Actions palette
You use the Actions palette to record, play, edit, and delete individual actions. This palette also lets you save and load action files.

To display the Actions palette, choose Window > Actions.
To expand and collapse sets, actions, and commands, click the triangle to the left of the set, action, or command in the Actions palette. Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) the triangle to expand or collapse all actions in a set or all commands in an action.
To display actions as buttons (Photoshop), choose Button Mode from the Actions palette menu. Choose Button Mode again to return to list mode. You can’t view individual commands or sets in Button mode.
To select actions in the Action palette, click an action name. In Photoshop, Shift-click action names to select multiple, contiguous actions and Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) action names to select multiple, discontiguous actions.
